"Osteopathy is a system of  diagnosis and physical therapy treatment for a wide range of medical conditions"-General Osteopathic Council(GOsC).

Osteopaths study for 5 years and have to complete a minimum of 1200 hours of practice .They have extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology , osteopathic techniques and musculo-skeletal medicine.

Osteopathy is a holistic approach to the individual, where the person is assessed and treated as a whole . During the first consultation a full case history is taken, where occupation , lifestyle, medical and family history are taken into consideration.The osteopathic assessment consist of postural , musculo-skeletal assessment as well as use of special tests where appropriate, so the Osteopath can reach a working diagnosis.The osteopathic treatment could include gentle manipulation of spinal or periferal joints to restore and enhance movement,soft tissue techniques (massage) , stretching and exercise prescription is also used to speed up recovery and bring the body back to optimum health. 

One of the main conosiderations of Osteopathy is that it is safe at any age. From infants to senior citizens Osteopathy is a safe and effective choice.

Galina Bell personal profile
Galina has been involved in teaching exercise and Pilates for the last 14 years. She is a qualified Pilates practitioner and mentor for the rehabilitation courses for Polestar Pilates UK. Her main areas of interest are women's health and rehabilitation with Pilates. In practice she is an Osteopath and Pilates therapist using Pilates as part of the ongoing maintenence of her patients.

Richard Hartley personal profile
Rick has always been interested in sports. In 1992 Rick became the British Sport Karate Champion and also successfully represented England on many occasions, spanning over several years.

With over 15 years of personal training and exercise rehabilitation experience Rick has achieved many qualifications with various institutes including a Diploma in Naturopathy, Modern Accupuncture and a degree in Osteopathy. He now is an education provider, which includes writing and teaching courses to personal trainers on how to rehabilitate clients.
